Why do we have the Malaysian press posting propaganda? Because it is also government-affiliated, of course. And the KL government is jealous of us making something out of nothing when they have all the natural resources but no means to strike it rich. Back in Singapore, our media outlets are so stifled that all the news becomes bland. People like Lazerlords have turned to online sources like AFP. Some of their releases would never be printed or aired in Singapore.

Compare both cases to that of UK. The British have got the Daily Mirror. It is famous for sending undercover journos to weed out scandals everywhere. The paper openly disagrees with propaganda it doesn't like and washes the dirty linen of public servants. Such things can go to press because civil rights are well-entrenched in society. KL and Singapore have much catching up to do.

In embassy or any ministry there's always certain code that u use so that u don't want people to know what you communicating about....it could a certain VIP is going to that country or your country decision to take action against the host they r in and they want the host country to know....it's quite common...sometimes during SAF exercise...u use certain code too for communication...there's always code book to decipher the meaning of the msg

Encryption is part and parcel of the internet age and why should we be surprise that it is ubiquitious in diplomatic and military traffic? Hell even ordinary users like you and me use encryption and there are tons of encryption free ware and shareware out there

Encryption...powerful stuff...well i don't noe how the Singapore Missions communicate, but i do belive if they want to send classified data back to singapore. certain encryption procedures is flowed. could be a public key encryption algorithm taliored to the needs of the Singapore Government.

Cracking such code is possible but i think by time we know the contents its a few hundred yrs later. Anyone who has did basic network security subjects in poly or uni should noe the amt of computational power needed to deciper the text.

And ppl from MIT and Stanford are researching into new ways of data representation in base 16 and 32 bits. As our world is still using binary as our basic data representation

No one is going to tell you that they have broken 2048 in the forum. Twisted Evil Anyway as a footnote to one of the earlier posts in which NSA and NRO is stated to used encryption, I think the author was trying to point out the chief SIGINT and IMINT agencies of the US which needs a slight correction. NRO is just a satellite operator that operates the satellites for the national intelligence agencies and does not have real analytical capabilities. The SIGINT data is analysed by NSA while the IMINT data is analysed by NGA (National Geospatial Intelligence Agency).

Sorry but i don't understand why would the Soviet be interested in conducting espionage in tiny Singapore. What useful information could they get out of Singapore? Singapore is just a tiny little country which is of no threat to the Soviet Union.

Could it be that the Soviet are interested in World Domination (Hegemony)? Are they planing to liberate Singapore and the entire world?
