There must be some sort of conspiracy...
Maybe some resistance faction planted some genetically-modified
plants in Indonesia... that when you burn those plants, they
release a kind of fumes that causes everyone affected by the haze
to become lethargic... and depressed...
And then when everyone's morale is at an all-time low, they will
make their move..........
