The first lane is definitely for overtaking only unless there's a traffic congestion, that's why I feel obliged to teach the road hoggers a lesson.

have u even started driving? driving at 90/speed limit on e right most lane when e left lane is clear or when u're not overtaking anyone is also considered road hogging ok. else they wont call it the overtaking lane. it dont mean if u travel at e road limit means u're alright. road hogger are the worst and they simply got no common sense at all. lousy driver is wat we call them.

i just don't like to see people on the rightmost lane when they've got no reason to be there in the first place (which means they are not overtaking anything at all, just cruising happily down the expressway like they are the only one paying road tax)

if u want to cruise, please do so in the middle lane. There is a reason why the rightmost lane is called the overtaking lane, not the 'I-can-cruise-there-just-because-I'm-obeying-the-speed-limit' lane.

Educating Road Hoggers should be left to the Traffic Police. Trying to "educate" these sort of drivers may result in roadside fist fights, and much time in court.

The most you could do is perhaps overtake and blast your horn in passing.

Just overtake them when even possible if the guy doesn't give way upon multiple signalling. Don't tailgate, don't hog them (don't bring yourself to their level), don't try to educate them cause they are too many of them to educate. What you can do is spread the words around instead of doing it on the road. People would be more willing to listern than when they are on the wheel.

If I were the person on the right going 90kmh..i see a car high beam from the back..the more I wont give way.. As long as Im over taking cars on my left..i have a right to be on the right. so those who like to speed so much... should learn to overtake..it's part of driving.

Travelling 90km/h on right most lane is though not wrong, but defintely ya ya.

For me, left lane = less than 80km/h
center lane =80-100km/h
right lane=100 and above km/h

If I am travelling at right most lane doing 100km/h and a car behind is fast approaching, I will filter to the left and let him pass. This is becoz, I rather they speed on the right most lane dan to speed in the middle or left most lane thus causing 'stress' to others using the middle and left lanes.

Right lane are there for a reason...They might really have something urgent and need to speed up to reach their destination faster. You never know.

So pls...if u arnt travelling fast enough...just guai guai stick to the center lane lor... whats so difficult?!?!?!

Its a Singaporean way of driving...if u live here, pls obey the unwritten rule.
I have no qualms about it. It just takes a little common sense and patience to have a safe and pleasant trip.

Last night, I saw a road hogger on the extreme right lane cruising at 90km/h.
So I overtook on the centre lane and suddenly swerve into his car. He lost control of his car and ram into the centre divider. As I saw the cloud of dust in my rear view mirror, I grinned to myself. hehehe it was a funny sight. Suddenly, my female passenger yelled at me "how can u do that!" She asked to reverse back to the scene but I refused. Twisted Evil

becos there are drivers like SexFrenzy, accidents happened all the time... come'on guys, wats wrong with driving 90km/h on the extreme right lane?!?! if u wanna overtake, do it with skills, if not then drop ur speed man... i'm sure the driver in the car, which hit the centre divider, is shocked with the way SexFrenzy drove... the overtaking car must be quite near to his/hers, tats why he lost control of his car... my piece of advise to SexFrenzy and drivers like him is: "Head North and drive like nobody's business, S'pore road dun need drivers like u to create accidents." These drivers are innocent, keeping a safe speed... their families may be onboard man...

Wad if the traffic then was rather heavy and :

Left lane = 70kmh
Centre = 80kmh
Right = ??

Dat's my point on...so long you are overtaking cars on your left.. you have your rights Smile It's not difficult for the speedster to move out of his lane, overtake and move back to the right lane either. If you say it's dangerous for other road users, den it's him who should slow down.

I admire the fact that you are so considerate for other road users anyway. Cheers Smile

Actually, I feel that abt 60-70% of the drivers here are quite friendly. I drive for abt 2-3hrs everyday and that's wad I've noticed. Tail gaters, yes. Road hogger, yes. Cockanathan drivers with no eyes,, yes. But these are still the minority. On average i will say, I haf one of these bad encounters every 3 days. quite good isnt it Razz

Well, the right lane is suppose to be for overtaking only. In atucal fact, we're not suppose to stay on that lane at all unless you are overtaking someone..

going at 90plus is road hogging? you say u go at 110kmh in right lane? i go at that speed- 110kmh, still got people tailgate me ah! usually bmws. then i move one side. i sometimes wonder y they dare go so fast,faster than 110kmh, maybe they got freind in TP hor?
