What he said about Singaporeans eating at food court is very true. Even those new ones with air-con. I am sure to see at least 2 or 3 tables littered with b...

I think maybe people are more civil minded a few years ago.
I remembered when I was in poly a few years ago I had to carry a hell lot of stuff home due to a project and I boarded the super packed bus 154.

I think at least 3 people offered their seat to me, a young girl carrying stuff that I felt so paiseh. I declined their offers till this lady lied to me that she is getting off the next stop that I took her seat to find out that she didn't do so till about 5 stops away.

Ito_^ SG

ya lor..

and they are darn quick to fire ppl whom they think are useless.. Confused

dragg SG

there are nice people around, like myself. Embarassed

but few and far between.

singaporeans are generally selfish, self-centred and hypocritical.

elindra SG

There are cleaners to clean the table because Singaporeans are not civil minded to keep the place clean

Can you imagine if the government were to take the cleaners off the road.

It's because Singaporeans do not know how to clean after themselves or should I say they expect people to clean up after them that cleaners have to be hired.

Plus, most of the time the cleaners cannot clean up the mess fast enough due to the slob on the table.

This is really putting the cart before the horse.

- yes, S'poreans are not really civic minded but look at it this way....jobs are created for the elderly in these food courts.

dragg SG

mai gong lah.

Mad

you must understand the mentality of local employers. if we start clearing the tables they will start terminating these cleaners.

Sad

i am not implying that the reason why i dont clear tables myself is because i am concerned about the jobs of the cleaners. but because there is a reason for everything. cleaners are there to clear the tables, at least that is what they are for in singapore.

Mr. Green

valentinoo SG

singaporeans are very skeptical and cynical.

many times i offered to help old folks carry groceries. they looked at me with suspicion. i had the feeling they thought i would run away with their groceries.

sometime i even had to ask him thrice if he really didnt need my help.
