Many argued that since you paid for a song or a movie, you can
do anything with it, including ripping them and make them available
online.
Yet, you should see that what you paid for is only a single,
personal right to the item, not the mass distributing rights. Thus
making them accessible to public is illegal.
For me, all these troubles are caused by the record companies etc
themselves. At first many are willing to buy CD, VCD etc. However,
the greedy commercial giants wanted more money, and rise the price.
Do you know that a DVD movie sells at more than 40 times its cost
price. Yes, movies making requires lots of investments, but they
too make lots of money from theatres.
When ppl download instead of buy,
what all those movie stars or singers worries is not whether they
make enough money to feed themselves, but whether they could buy 1
or 3 bungalows!
