just curious…are RSAF pilots issued pistols when they fly?

seancannot SG

Saw pilot in the range on P226 b 4. my guess is P226 is their SOP items then. Remember black hawk down.. the pilot lan lan when the mob comes after him even with his MP 5 imagine our pilot ony with a p226 , thot SAF changing to P90 as the standard side arms liao

Raptor937 SG

That's a very big side arm Shocked

P90 is a SMG/PDW don't think it'll ever be issued as a sidearm. Neutral

I think pilot should be issued with a bomb vest. Crash a million dollar plane still want to come back?!

Go kill yourself and take some enemies with you as repayment!

LazerLordz SG

Indeed.I would think more on the lines of the H&K USP Pistol.Lighter and more handy than the P226.

Its a pain for s4 branch, a pain for armskote, a pain for the FIF maintainence, its a pain even for people who have to be issued. n"uff said. Laughing

Hmm! Not a bad choice but neither is it a good one either. Neutral
But as long as its not a sissy gun like Glock, etc, it'll do. Most important is the shooter must feels confident with the pistol. Mr. Green

This might sound strange to those who've never seen a girl shoot. Rolling Eyes
Yes, they( girls ) suck at handling pistol( weapon not attached to any body parts! Mr. Green ). But they usually hit their target where it counts on the first shot which is more then I can say for most guys.
And when girls are more comfortable with their guns( usually Glocks ), their technical skills still sucks! But they keep on hitting their targets. Mad
OoH! And they develope a good firm grip...... Twisted Evil

Do you want to start a Fundamentals of Shooting and Ballistics in the SAF Forum?

Tell me if you're keen..will start a sticky for you. Mr. Green

Thanks, LazerLordz but I think Palmerized is right, there will be limited interest due to number of actual pistol shooters and such. That said, If you think it would help any of the guys, I would be more than happy to do so Wink

BTW, I was in Singapore last week and got a chance to catch up with those who shoot on a regular basis and it turns out that the number of sport shooters in Singapore is slowly but surely picking up. It helps that some of our guys did very well at the IPSC AustralAsia shoot in Bali last year and also Thailand.

If any of you are interested in getting into this, email me direct and I will get you to the right folks who can help.

hey i-shot, are you in that vid? anyway lazer i don't think starting a fundementals of shooting sticky would help anyway. not many shooters in singapore, and besides, there are already many other forums out there dedicated to the topic.. just my 2 cents.

Hey man Smile nope, it's not me. I own a shooting team here stateside and that's the team captain, someone who was part of the old Brit SF community. Helluva shooter and helluva instructor too.
