Points to note for driving a new car

Hello experts,

I will be getting my new car 1.6 auto in next week.

Can anyone advise me what are the precautions or extra things to do for driving a new car?

As I am aware, I need to drive not more than 80 km/h for the first 5000 km. Is that correct?

In addtional, I feel this thread would also be useful for future newbies driving in a new car like me.

do not do sudden e brake unless realli in an emergency

it below 100 for the 1st 1000km, it the run in period.
try not to ebrake for the 1st 200 ot 300km, forget liao

heh... u can keep to a crusing speed as long as ur engine rev is less den 3k RPM.

tat's for me. other wise drive normally and dun e-brake. just tap normally and release your feet from the accelerator FAR from a traffic light to give you enough time.

den if you got bodykits for goodness's sake do not get too close to the curb!

Maybe u can go thru your car manual book ..inside got stated very detail informations of your babe. Very Happy

try not to exceed 80km/h and above 2000 rpm during run in.

best advice? drive slowly. as much as it is tempting to punch the accelerator to feel how ur new babe takes u, u'd best reserve the pedal-2-the-metal stunts until after ur first servicing at least. juz remember, no abrupt change of speeds, either going up or slowing down. be smooth and the car will run in nicely to operating conditions later on.

and always keep 2 the left lane if u are driving slow Laughing

Either than the common keeping under RPM 2000 or 3000 for the first 1000 or 2000 Km.

I do find a common trait on no E-brake... Can't understand logically. Could it be the bolt or nuts that could be easily become loose after the e-brake?

i dunno about the braking thing but i find my braking abit late at times, but it doesn't justify as e-brake yet. i supposed it will wear out ur brake pads or ur brake fluids??

hmm.... i also go ard 90km/h on express way but i never rev my engine about 3k RPM....

but i think engine will make a difference? not too sure about tat
