Comparing amount of free time in the Army

Hi all,

Was just wondering, how much free time does one get during SISPEC as compared to OCS?

For those in PTP batch duing BMT, do they have alot of tme to themselves to do their own stuff in the Army?

wat a weird thing to compare! free time?!

if we are to assume that the training is not meant to be slack nor a waste of time, but at the same time they plan for sufficient rest time, the amount of free time (as a percentage of the total time spent, that is) should be about the same.

in sispec you do things until 3-4am in the morning....like planning for tomorrow activities...etc...i mean the trainee PS, CSM, trainee sect.comd...etc..

have to prepare your stores, draw stores, this that, write diary, prepare for tests..etc...

think OCS definitely easier....you see the operational units u know liao.... Very Happy

everytime is the Sect.comd and PS draw and pass the stores to the PC one, and after mission, they just go off, leaving the PS and sect.comd, to ask men down to clean stores, return stores, ...etc... Embarassed

you are wrong.

if u r refering to exercises, in ocs, there are sect comd, ps, pc appointments. and obviously there is planning to do, stores to maintain and draw, tests to take, and yes, diaries to write too.

who else would do all these if all the cadets in ocs are supposed to act as PC? the instructors???

reminds me of unit life.
remember one PC after exercise, passed his m16 to his runner to clean.
one sect comd see liao, ask the runner clean the pc's m16 in coy office.

The pc, after bathing, when to office and saw his runner and said "wah u slow la, clean weapon so slow" (didnt know it was his weapon).

Just then CSM came out and said "Sir, that's your weapon". Everyone laughed so loudly, the PC face red Laughing

There nothing to compare lar. Each one have their own role and responsibility
Officer: Med - High level planning
Spec: Low - Med level planning (Depending on the officer in charge)
Man: Just do dont ask

Yeah, i know its a weird thing to compare.

The reason being one of my friends is enlisting into the Army soon, and he just got his A level results. Unfortunately he didnt do too well. He told me that he was planning to retake his A levels while in NS, but dunno if he has the time to study, hence asked me to help him find out. What do u guys think?

Ohh btw, while we're at it, i heard for u to get a chance to go OCS, u must possess leadership qualities. Do they take into account ur academic results oso? I think my friend wants to try going there.
