air strike on iranian nuclear facilities????

i am making an educated guess here.

i can foresee Mossad, CIA with UAVs , recon satellites and Special Forces are now monitoring those Iranian facilities closely.

Israel will never let a Middle East nation built or possess nuclear weapons. (aka 1981 Osirak nuclear plant)

my guess is that

a)Mossad will provide the intel needed, and the strike will be carried out with American strategic weapons....namely F-117A nighthawk and B-2 spirit.

b)Joint air strike by Israeli and American aircraft.

To be honest,the inadequate security of such bases in unstable regions like the Middle east might and will affect the stability in the world as a whole.But then again,the US is a super-power and thus feel that they have a need for such weapons.Then again...it might not be such a bad idea for the US to forbid nations from having nuclear weaponry.To be honest,I don't think there is a need for such weapons these days as warfare is limited to a small scale mostly with insurgents and terrorists...

Thus,I feel that the most important weapons these days are not large ICBM class of nukes,but man-packed type of nukes will be more suitable and can cause more wide-spread fear and confusion as there is no real way of defending against man-packed nukes.

The only concerns US may have in launching such a strike is the potential spread of radioactive materials from such a strike. You are correct to assume that US will try to emulate the successful Israel strike on Iraq facilities back in 1981 (was it repeated 2-3 years later??).

My only guess is that US better watch out, thier track record in surgical strikes/actions sucks (Libya) because the politics tends to overtake the miltary considerations (OP Eagle Claw (Iranian Hostage rescue), Grenada etc.) and everyone wants to ave a share but too many cooks spoil the soup.

Last week, the head of the UN nuclear watchdog, Mohamed ElBaradei, said that there was no evidence to support the claim that Iran is making nuclear weapons.

Does anyone else find it difficult to understand why the head of the UN nuclear watchdog can't be a Mr. Wong, Mr. Tanaka, Mr. Mandela...why wouldn't Israel/the US view this head with some suspicion?

To me it's like Mr. Wong saying there is no evidence to support the claim that lap cheong is being made in Guangdong.
