Weapons is US?If nt wrong I belief we only have the AIM-120 in
US,which will be delievered to us when things go hot.
AH-64 Apache tracking system?You mean the AH-64 with a rotor
mounted Longbow radar system is it?Though we ordered 8 of those and
12 of the AH-64Ds w/o the Longbow.Can't really recall...
Anyway,please do not that the Igla SAM used by RSAF is of Russian
make.The RBS70,Mistral are of Eurpoean make.And the Orelikion AA
guns are of European make too if I didn't recall wrong.
Navy wise the Gabriel and Barak is Israeli made if not wrong.
Army side the SPIKE ATGM is a joint project between S'pore and
Israel and MILAN is of Eurpoean make.
To sidetrack alittle,the Taraus revolver used by the SPF is made in
Brazil.
So how can it be said that we are too dependent on US for
equipment.besides,purchase of US equipment is due to the fact that
they are very highly precise weapons and platforms.And are
reliable,thus the procurement on most of our hardware is from
them.But eventually,we may use more locally made stuff.
