hello guys. newbie here, currently in kiwiland.

my friend drives to uni daily cos he lives in the suburbs. last month he was late for a test and decided to park in a multistorey carpark 5min walk from the uni. went for 2.5hrs test, came back, had to pay nz$24 for the parking. no valet, not charged by per entry. city streetside parking aint much better. nz$2/hr for those backalley lanes where punks might just pimp your ride for free or nz$3/half hr for along the main streets. car's cheap, parking's not.

Sydney city, its better to take a bus or cab. the parking charges are high.

don't forget car theft mate. a friend's car got broken into in sydney while parking at a shopping mall. you don't get much of that here in sg.

cars in those countries are dirt cheap but yeah, car park prices are way mad in the cities. don't forget you have cold winters esp in canada so looking after a car there might not be as easy as you think esp if it's not going to be a new car.

do remember to get a car with fog lights. it helps, trust me !

Agreed! You need winter tyres which cost a bomb. The salt pellets used during winter are also a killer! Mr. Green
