rex definitely no prob hitting 200+ if not electronically limited by the ecu @ 180 km/h. both the 5 speed base rex and the 6 speed sti have gearing which can propel them beyond 200 km/h thats 4 sure. lack of high end power does not equate lack of power. 225 and 265 sounds good enuff for at least 240 km/h.

can. unless u free gear and careen down the slope at 200+ km/h (kids, dun try this at home Laughing ). otherwise with ur gear engaged, ecu will auto cut the fuel once it detect speeds of 180 km/h.

then i also heard from somewhere that a Version 2 1.25 bar turbo boost did 260km/h…..is that possible?

260 km/h? should be chicken feet for a well tuned rex. its the whole package not juz the amount of boost that matters.

well...if the WRX version 2 have the oil filter changed, racing clutch, turbo gauge changed, turbo boost change to 1.25 bar and the limiter overrided with a new chip.can it hit 260km/h?

when stock hv lah...u can only see the speedo move up & down from 173 to 184km/h nia...

after u take out the limiter, can hoot till 224km/h there..highest speed i dare to go till find rex start to shake abit....

engine will blow or not i dunno, but there is a possibility turbo is glowing hot & may melt or crack or burst open wid tat kind of boost at that speed....the intercooler may not take it...unless hv very very big intercooler & very very good radiator......but again i ever heard ppl say can pass 250km/h mark but i dunno.....

Never dare to try max cos dunno can tahan or not, at 200+km/h on rex my balls started to shiver liao...is either hv to slow down liao or BOOM & die..lolx..

i chased my fren's rex on my ol civic along NS before. going 230+. my tacho finish liao in 5th gear. dunno maintain 4 how long, maybe 5 mins plus then he suddenly slow down and i overtook him. stopped at the next RnR n he tell me his turbo suddenly no boost juz now. go and pop the bonnet and found his turbo got one lobang already. Laughing
