Well, the official spin put out by the regular guys running the
camp is that if we are recalled and actual weapons issued, we are
all going to be sent to the 100m range (or if crowded to the
nearest 25m range) to zero and test fire our weapon.
Needless to say, I just listened and was wondering if it is an
actual mobilisation, whether there would be time to do all these.
Maybe for some of the private soldiers who have no other
preparation to do.... But for the rest of the specs, officers and
some of the men, we have planning, stores to load up and whatever
nonsense there is. Zero-ing would have to be done in the
field.
Apologies to the enemy if we intended to shoot him in the leg but
shot him in his ar--se, because of lousy zero-ing !!!
