anyway, my friend in Thailand told me, if in Thailand you meet monks, go to the nearest market and buy them something, for example watermelon..

if they willingly carry it back all the way to their temple, they're real

You should ask them for permits etc and see whether they are genuine. Lots of fake monks around. Most monks do not ask for alms outside. If they do they must have permit.

these people are everywhere. most are from china.
