To pass your TP practical test easily and properly, make
sure:
1. Check blindspots. You have to make it very obvious that you
are checking blindspots because most of the testers are uncles with
"quite bad" eyesight. (Trust me, nobody knows better than me. I got
deducted 6 points for blind spot)
2. Don't Panic. Especially when you are on a slope, with all the
hand-brake, signal, release clutch, step-on-pedal actions. Make
sure that you can "visually see" the hood of the car "lifting up"
before you release your handbrake.. or else the moving off will
either roll back, or become jerky. (Testers can fail you for that
aspect even though you fare well in other areas)
3. Brake early and gently. Always try to look far ahead. You can
usually see a traffic light turning amber or red right in front of
maybe 50 metres. That is the time to brake gently and gear down..
Make sure you brake enough to gear down or the engine brake will
cause a sudden lose of speed and jerk, which may annoy the tester.
If you come to a stop in a jerky way, he may also fail you for
that.
4. Try your best to get used to the test car. The test car is
like a virgin: Stiff clutch, stiff brakes and stiff accelerator. I
stalled for at least 8 times, when i went for my warm up session.
Luckily, I did not screw up during the test. (Tester may also fail
you based on incompetency to handle the clutch action).
Finally, all the best to those who are going to take their TP..

helps !
