Whats that for?

On the Commander's jeep's front there is this curved piece of metal. Sometimes i see that it is being used to put con wire but i think there is a better use for this. I may be wrong so i want to confirm my idea. Can anyone please tell me what is that? Thanks Very Happy

It's for parting foilage and cutting any wires that is strung across the road by the enemy...

Otherwise the wire / string will take the jeep driver and vehicle commanders head off, especially at night... a cheap and economical trick dating back to WWII used against scouts...

But nowadays, there's IEDs and landmines...
