What you guys think about the lancer 1.6 cvt?

seow SG

I have seen lots of these on the roads and they seem to be more common than the other sunny/corollla/etc... models, wonder why... Is there anything special about it? Question

wbucket SG

Sporty looks, but auto car for the lazy lot Wink .....or those who just want to drive leisure. Spacious, cheap, Japan-built, why not?

Those who have issues with this model is either because of the noisy engine (maybe just a little) or the shaky foundation of the company "Mitsubishi" itself.

alberteinstein SG

bo leh. one sale exe told me auto car fetch higher resale because most singaporeans are driving auto. It will be harder to find ppl who want to buy manual car. How true is that??

wbucket SG

True. But I would rather get the manual one. Cheaper, stronger, more FC-wise. Of course nothing beats the feeling of gear shift.

joey2003 SG

Well...

Heard from some mechanics that the CVT pickup is not that good... some people recommend to buy the manual version of the LANCER...

I'm driving the manual version...FC is excellent... clocked best 16.7km/l

average is about 14.7km/l, going around singapore...getting stuck in traffic, air con on, hi fi on...

I dunno about you though..but I find toyota corolla very very common in singapore roads... lancer is still alright..but getting common too...

Rockhound SG

the sport model better…lol….

scotts07 SG

Powerwise,Nissan sunny is still better.my friend after fixed on the twinturbo, strut bar, broquet air booster, changed my muffler kit,the engine is damn noisy with squeakling sound. Then can find losing horsepower, but by right, fixing on the broquet increases the power.Maybe cos of his Fast driving.Sunny price now only at $54,500.my sunny was quite powerful after modification..

wbucket SG

Didn't I said looks?

No-one who likes the feeling of powerful engine would be content with an auto transmission car. At least those tri-tronic and stuff might satisfy some, but I believe most will go for manual.

Anyway, Nissan's cars are powerful at a cost. Out front might be cheaper, but you are bleeding every month through fuel.

I think spec-wise, the most powerful car at that price range would be Vios.

parryhotter SG

I wonder why so many people mind if a certain brand or model of a car is common on the road? What's wrong with driving cars which are common on the road?

I really want to know.

^VioS^ SG

Yeah VioS~ Mr. Green

Souledge SG

any car can becomes powerful after modification what hahaha Mr. Green

wbucket SG

It is about the idea of individuality. Driving a common car might imply a "follow the crowd but knows nothing" image to the buyer. Or just the feeling of wanting to stand out. Even if I got a common car, I will definitely do something to the car that will hopefully be easily indentified as mine.

scotts07 SG

No..not all car man. Some cars like those nissan march or kia cars, most of them don't turn out to be that powerful that i expected.Hahaha..Man!! i am facing all cars everyday cos i am a mechanic, still cars like vios, sunny and mazda 2/3/6 turn to be the best after modification.VERY VERY POWERFUL!!..

silv3rgal SG

Hmm.. so does the Manual Transmission Lancer 1.6 has a noisy engine too?

tailslide SG

now, thats a load of bull.

firstly, broquet is a "fuel charger" not "air booster" (wat the hell is an "air booster" anyway? Laughing )

secondly, u fixed bi turbos on ur sunny? cool. may i ask ur injectors now using how big? wat is the size of ur intercooler? ur exhaust diameter how big? ur turbos sequential? wat size ur turbos? ur engine now how many hps? u using which management system to control the engine? hate it when ppl start talkin big without proof.

tailslide SG

my toes are getting cramps from luffing...... Laughing

scott07 SG

this was all typed by my friend,i think wat he means is the lancer(AFTER FIXED WITH TURBO). but hope he doesn't see this,<* i think wat he says are craps out of the mouth*> Fuel charger increases power, never heard it decreases the power. Laughing

SkyWalker SG

hi scott,

I'll be getting my Sunny FL N16 next mth, but already planning to mod it to improve its power and FC, as long as it doesn't void the warranty.

may I know what mods did u make on your Sunny? care to share? thanks alot!

scotts07 SG

Hi skywalker,i am the scott. Some of the postings on top are by my untrustable friends. Well, for sunny,u can try to change air filter and fix on the broquet. But if u looking for a cheaper air intake, den may be u can try RMK 202,if u're keen of that,i can let u know the authorise dealer.

When did u order your sunny FL?is it a 1.6 ex or super?kinda find that the car collection very long, some need to wait for 3 months.I think cos now prices are cheap and also come with the bodykits.Did u fixed on any bodykits?
