In view of the increasing numbers of ATM card skimming cases around the world, we would like to advise our card users to be extra cautious when using the ATM, locally or overseas.

Recent unauthorised ATM withdrawals have occurred in United Kingdom, Thailand and Europe.

In Singapore, we are in the process of installing this new security device on all our ATMs to prevent your card information from being skimmed:

i have seen it once only at the ATM of the kopitiam opposite pungol park. so far, havent seen it elsewhere.

that thing is used by DBS. i think if u go to the DBS offical web they will tell u how to differ which is tamped.

if u scare its some device installed by the hackers etc, there is a way to know.

Just bring a hammer and wack that green thing off... wait for an hr. if no one comes, means it could be what u are afraid of.

apparently the purpose of the device is to prevent a third party from installing a skimming device..

it has been publicised quite a few months back. quite a lot of the green device sprang up on the machines i use. Confused

i saw this at one ATM somewhere in tampines... i forgot...

the next time i use the same ATM... the thing dun have oredi.

and i dun see it anywhere else oredi leh.. weird.

News only got announce they will be testing it at a few selected ATMs only. It's not official. If all goes well, it will be implemented. That's a few months ago I think. Can't remember.
