Are you intending to travel here for business, study or pleasure?
The good news is that Singapore is one of 27 countries currently
participating in the US government's Visa Waiver Program (VWP); if
you are travelling for pleasure as a tourist and the length of stay
does not exceed 90 days, then you do [b]not need to obtain
an entry visa. You need to be in possession, however, of one of
those new-fangled machine-readable passports (which you do, as you
have indicated previously).
Take a look at this website
for the most current information on the entry requirements into
this country.
(If, however, you are coming here for business or study, then the
entry requirements are far more complex, and you'll really have to dig into the
information in that website.)

Mel Gibson,
I am intending to travel to US on pleasure first. IE tourist visa.
I have understood about the waiver program, but when I checked the
Embassy website, it has few complicated stuffs. But then again, I
checked and further found out that indeed Singaporeans do not need
a tourist visa on the length of of no more than 90 days.
Further confirmation by you greatly reduced my anxiety.
