Speedup Civilization IV Game

I have a problem here.

Whenever i play Civ4 game with the latest patch V1.61, and with huge map and 18 nations, it slow down alot.

IS there a patch file or ways to speedup the game?

Hi,

I myself play Civ4, which is a fine game. Im also using version 161. This latest version is already intended to improve game performance. If you are still experiencing slow performance, that means your computer specification is a little outdated. There is only one way: scrimp and save. Disable your background applications such as anti-virus and all other applications, and run the game in minimum graphics detail. If you still find it slow, go to 'msconfig' and untick all unneccessary services. If it's still unsatisfactory, buy more RAM or upgrade your video card.

I think another way is to zoom a litle closer, expecially on huge maps.

I don't know what you guys mean by speeding up a turn, check out the game settings and see whether you can disable AI moves/ not showing them.

Actually there is a Civ4 forum. It might be better to use that forum to ask questions, it's a very active community. Some people even made mods.
