DMZ between N.Korea and S.Korea

I'm curious here guys,you see in news and pictures,long houses and MPs or Troopers of boths sides standing stiffly and facing the other side.Now,I'm wondering,what if someone of another nationality say a Singaporean or Swiss crosses to the other side,will they be shot or what?

And what are those long houses for?

The longhouses were where the ceasefire was negotiated in 1953.

The arrangement is as such- two South Koreans looking south, one South Korean looking North.

Two North Koreans looking north, one North Korean looking South.

u gotta read an issue abt NKorea and SKorea tension of the National Geographic....it states everything clearly..simply...its a show of..."cmmon punk..make ure move"..trust me...they are ready for war..at a moments notice..we wont understand the way they do things...but its everyday life to them..

US Military Police are also involve in this "ritual" on some days..
