With regards to today's ST

Why would RSAF want to reveal abt the Harppons on the MPA?

SibeiSuayKia SG

Terrorism at Sea.

In case you noticed, the Fokker-50 Enforcer targeted audience...is..
to send those Malaysian/Indonesian sea pirates a straight warning..

Remember that Pirates + Terrorists could work together?

The Air-Launched Harpoons solves this combined problem. =)

Full Stop.

With Bush winning the Presidential race, the harpoon will most likely get to be use sometime during the next 4 years. Yeehah! Twisted Evil

Can someone please kindly paste the news here. Thank you.

branzzz SG

what’s there to reveal? its been a long known fact that the MPAs have the capability to carry 4 harpoons each, two under the wing and two under the fuselage. i’ve in fact got a poster of the MPA carry such ordnance.

seachfun SG

Using the harpoon to tgt the pirates' sampan?
1 mil $ aganist few hundred $what a total waste in money!

[email protected] SG

u dun understand.... we can blow up whole fleets of sampans with a single missile!!! what military might!!! whoopeee! Mr. Green

khyron1 SG

Agree, why waste $$$ of a misiile to whack simple boats? Podded MGs or cannons is sufficient.

sgdiehard SG

If there are simple boats, why whack them at all? Podded MGs and cannons cost money, flying the planes that carry the MGs and cannons also cost money. Let sampan be sampan.

[email protected] SG

because we want them to DIEEEEE!!! DIEEEE PAINFULLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!!!!!! KAAAABOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!! WAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Twisted Evil

laurence82 SG

Precisely. Prirates usually attack in sampans, small fishing vessels and so on. They are usually not anywhere near the size of a missle corvette, gunboat or any large ships.

Why would the RSAF/RSN use Harpoons against them, as SBSK suggested?

Poopie-Head SG

to make a bigger splash? Mr. Green

kill chicken use bull knife

laurence82 SG

Exactly.... Laughing

sbst275 SG

A C3 officer and a pilot can be head of a RSAF dept like FSD?

sgdiehard SG

SBSK talked about terrorism at sea. Pirates in sampans only attack to rob, but if international terrorists use them to hijack a ship, change the cargo to a few hundred tons of ammonium nitrate and then sail into singapore port........ Rolling Eyes

sbst275 SG

Like this die liao... MUST upgrade RSN capability

Easy, we modify a naval variant of AC-130...

In case, you all don't know, AC-130 is armed with a rotating cannon on the plane =D

Of course lah, it will be vulnerable to sampans which carry RPG/aa missiles..

IMAGINE SAMPANS GETTING RIPPED BY THIS MONSTER..MUAHAHAHA!!

Anyway, We just have to do some modifications on our C-130 Hercules...
if we wanna achieve the desired effect...

=D

Actually, a effective defence force to me means a credible air power

With fighters from Russia, USA, Europe... C-130 Gunship is practically 1 that is needed
