monkeybusiness SG can anyone tell me wat is the passing criteria for IPPT? i mean each individual item. e.g. sit-up must do how many to pass, pull-up must do how many to pass? thanx!
Johnston SG :/ All this info is available from your school. Look in the 18+ section To help you out a little.... here you go. Sit-up = 36 SBJ = 216 pull-up - 5 2.4 - 12min shuttle run = >??? Of course im exempted from IPPT for the rest of my foreseeable future, so i could care less.

kops21 SG Well done kwlee Possible to put in the monetary award as well? The special 2.4km timing for GOLD is not within the list.
kops21 SG Si Monkey, don't embarrass ur love for TKD. No stamina What a joke !!! U should do regular jogging(at the min) before enlistment or else u suffer. Anything less than a Silver(IPPT Standard), you are a disgrace. I should be doing a run on coming Saturday afternoon(3pm) at Bedok Reservoir. Join me. U can do 1 round. Dont give the lame excuse u cant finish. U can always walk 1 round instead of jogging.
John Ching SG I maybe mistaken but I get this impression that Singapore soldiers have this obsession with being skinny. Its not a bad thing though, considering that it probably means you guys are living up to the" lean, mean, fighting machine" thingy. But as a soldier, how do you intend on fighting your enemy if you can't intimidate him first? Also, being physically big does have an advantage in cambat when you've got to carry loads such as extra ammos & so on. And then theres the fact that during combat situation, soldiers can loose a large amount of body fats with a day or 2 of continuous fighting. So if a Singapore soldier, at his current physical weight, goes into such a combat situation, won't he come off the battle looking like a skeleton? Just a thought.
