Soldiers in Belarus have been ordered to take up ballet in a bid
to improve "devotion and discipline".
Military top brass have said that officers and soldiers are to
learn to ballet and also be step perfect in traditional Belarussian
folk dances.
They say the discipline involved in learning dance moves and the
passion music can produce are fundamental to military success,
according to the MIGnews agency.
The move by officials in Belarus, seen by the west as one of the
last Stalinist-style dictatorships, has been backed by
organisations including the Belarus Republican Youth
Association.
