Depends on his MOS, he can look for jobs similar to it as some
companies do look into experience. 
Look on the bright side of things, it may not be a bad thing for
him to leave the service if he is still young. He can always try
something new like maybe becoming a Coast Guard, etc. It would be
hard if he is older in age when they ask him to leave.
