My favourite Chinese drama serials were all sword-fighting epics
- best was Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre starring Adam Cheng.
Also, Mixue was a cutey in some of these dramas.
They spelt Nostagalic -----> Nostalgic
Haw Par Villa was free and then you had to pay and then now its

Coffee served properly in ceramic cups with the tiny ceramic spoons
(China spoons) with 3 beads of sand for stands, all heated in hot
water to keep your coffee bloody hot for an hour in the sweltering
heat of Singapore - now it's high-class and fashionable
West Coast beach - now part of the port used to have many large
rocks at the seaside with oyster like shell fish that you could pry
off and cook Oyster fry (Oh Jian) ---- nice, now you can stand by
the roadside and say we have No. 1 port 
Speaking Chinese meant you were likely to be communist
