Hellraiza SG

what in particular? pedalling, grinding, blast beats, what? Laughing

Allen.Iverson SG

omg i want also!!! but i doubt can find any good one….and btw u cant learn specific techniques of blast beats or double bass stuff…u need to learn all and progress

Hellraiza SG

if u use the whole repertoire of metal drumming techniques for every song...i salute you for ur stamina and skill but will phuck u for giving me a headache

TwinTurbo_Supra SG

why would u want to learn something which has no rhythm or feel. Rolling Eyes

i got a fren that is in a local metal band and teaches drumming. u might want to ask him. Pm me for details.

Simon Dean SG

aiya go listen to your "my chemical romance" la Rolling Eyes

I don't listen to MCR. In fact i don't really like MCR.

Seriously, if u want to pursue drumming u should do so by trying a range of genres instead of focusing on 1 genre only.

A good drummer is a versatile drummer.

Simon Dean SG

then explain your statement about no feel or rhythm.Metal is a complex form of music especially death metal.

Allen.Iverson SG

i think u've not heard metal music before, cos they involve great complexity second only to jazz i think...

go youtube and look at the works of some metal drummers
check out chris adler of lamb of god
his double bass is 200% precision
then theres jan axel blomberg who utilises lots of blast beats
superb man!!!

anyway

im interested in learning but i have no drum and canot get one cos my neighbours will cfm complain..

TwinTurbo_Supra SG

metal drumming is all technicality. all you hear are double basses and damn fast rolls.

i admit that metal drummers are very fast and precise. But in my opinion, drumming should be about rhythm and feel. If speed and precision is the most important, why not just use a drum machine?

TwinTurbo_Supra SG

go read up more please

Allen.Iverson SG

lol if theres no rythm and feel in metal drumming then do you think it will still be called “technical” rather than “improvision”???

TwinTurbo_Supra SG

Since you want to be so stubborn. Rolling Eyes

I have studied and learnt drums for 2 years already in case you didn't know.

TwinTurbo_Supra SG

You call metal drumming improvisation? No no, you call constant double pedalling improvisation?

When i listen to metal drumming I can't feel any groove. Go listen to funk drummers then you know what improvisation means.

Simon Dean SG

e.g
when i listen to Lee Hsien Loong talk i feel like puking, when i listen to Lee Kuan Yew talk.I feel relived.

oh well, to each his own.

FadeToBlack SG

can you please respect metal? what an imbecile here..

a good musician should learn to respect all kinds of genre, even in particular metal.. if you can't appreciate then don't say a word.

heh, you think you looked cool when you say

'Seriously, if u want to pursue drumming u should do so by trying a range of genres instead of focusing on 1 genre only.

A good drummer is a versatile drummer.'

he just wanted to learn what he wants and be happy about it?
why the hell do you give all sorts of comment, moreover, he did not say that good drummer learns metal. He only said he wanted to learn metal because he is into it.
