I dun think SAF will be interested in Terrex as M113
replacement, they will most probably replace by more Bionix.
The reason I believe is simply becos a wheeled AFV are still having
too high a ground pressure to be used in tropical rain forest
terrain.
Currently , the vanilla Terrex weight abt 17.5tons, with more
heavier weapons and additional armour , the weight could be easily
be up to 25 tons.
Eventhough the ground pressure is not released by ST , I will use a
similar weighted 8x8 for reference.
Piranha 4 Basic 8x8 weight abt 25 tons, and has a ground pressure
of 481kPa ~ 4.9 kgf/sq cm, which is abt 6.5 times that of
Bionix!!!
Anyway, the V-200 4x4 was actually our first bad buy in the late
60s for our newly formed armoured force, they were found to be
easily mired in swampy terrain which was soon replaced by the
tracked M113 after a few years of svc.
With more than 250 V series AFVs, some were modified as a SAM
platform & the rest seconded to FDS & PDF.
