18. With regards to war , I will never carry a white flag or tissue paper

Well, pre NS enlistee, Thank you for your willingness to lay down your life for Singapore should the need arises... but do take note that it is being said WITHOUT any REAL military experience but from info from books, forums, net and hear say from frens you may be the scholar type of student.. but now you are jus a chairman "expert"...... After u had ur military experience, then u decide if u still want to lay ur life for singapore... ( Well on my part, and the rest of those who had, and those still serving, we remember our SAF pledge, not forgetting our Specialists' and Officers' Creed....

Its easy to open your mouth and say this say that... but are you aware of the implications it will bring...? and the economical,political ,practical implications ,feasibility of introducing certain defence equipment into the region...?? well asking MINDEF bring in the defence equipments you saw on internet, books, computer games is not as easy as asking daddy for $$ to buy the latest computer and games....
National Defence is more than reading stuff off the net, books, forum and asking ur govt to implement them, it is definitely more than keeping an invicible army on ur land

well... C4 jus another type of explosives, more commonly used by you in CS,

if a soldier can't even take this... then he's not a soldier at all.... a soldier will be more occupied with other operational/ survival matter srather than such trival stuff.. troop morale are much more affected by other areas like ^#%[email protected]%$&..... ( you go and learn thru ur own actual experience... )...

The others do not really want to flame you.Might be your youthful exuberance is over the top at times and these are also people who have served their time in the SAF and logically will know a whole lot more than you.No doubt, you have a military themed personality but you do know that hardware without software is useless.Try to read deeper into what they're trying to say.When people start talking about MSD etc..it's to tell you that you might be treading on information which they know should not be out here in the first place.Anyway, chill and do not get too worked up.Be humble and people will like you better.Just my two cents worth. With regards to northern and southern politics

1stly , They are plagued by their own elections problems , our dear frens
in the south and if they lose, they become a civilian
and if u have any idea how many operational F-16 they got
its lesser then 10, and if u know how many christian v muslim
riots and in Aceh and the problem they facing with australian
you should be more grateful. To the southern pple , they are more
concerned about australians purchasing long range missile
as for singapore being a threat to them , i don't think so,
as ive said before they look upon us as a little red dot and
they like to look down on us, well , let it be.

2ndly, Indonesia and Australia diplomatic relations had previously alot of
problems and they are concerned about Abu Bakar , small provinces
trying to split away etc.

3rdly , Nevertheless, we should not let our guard down , and not to forget
their forces are widely stretched around their country , and
Australia itself , has quite a powerful military comparable to SG's

4th , Don't forget confrontasi though =) , and good diplomatic relations
is always helpful , like giving out aid to earth quake, volcano,
helping out in UN operations..in east timor..have u all forgotten?

5th, 4 SU-30 MKK over 17,000 islands cannot do anything much .

With regards to Northern politics,

1st, Friendly PM who deals everything different from the previous 1,
with Chinese roots. Nevertheless, increment of arm procurement
Some planes in butterworth, kuantan , and a sub base scorpene

2ndly, Domestically challenged by Parti Islam Se Malaysia,
too busy about own growth.

3rdly, Upgrading of weapons, and modernisation..

in our PM lee Speech , Malaysia and Indonesia will always be our friend
of "special importance" , there you go .

Politics and Military is the best combination , cause politics give rise to the need of military.

Well...just another naive NCC boy who thinks his knowledge of military hardwares is great....... listen to the advice others given to you abt BMT... BMT totally different from NCC.... dun be a pain in the ass during BMT.. else... will be Target 11 for " blanket party "....

as someone had mentioned , Knowledge of military hardware without the knowledge of operation SOPs is useless.... it will only make you an pain-in-the-ass...you know nothing abt operation SOPs and tactics... what you know is what our Northern and southern enemies know also.. When u know/talk abt something ( from net, forums, books ) which others dun know or chose to keep quiet... its doesn't make them any less smart than you.... it only show you are nothing more than an Smart Alex..

A nuke would seem a very good option , say if enemy launch surprise attack into woodlands and land in changi from shore based LST and amphibious landing

Then ICBM launch towards the hostile country , this is only for countries whose strike range is beyond our RSAF,RSN,SAF reach (forward defense unapplicable)

The Nuke is intended for long range aggressor.

If Singapore gets Attacked by China, and SG gets bombed and most of the planes get downed while trying to do forward defense, the forward defense works for 4 days..den collapse..enemy forces trying to enter into SG.

Press the button and the icbm goes up to their major city.

The ICBM was intended for long distance aggressor to assume northern and southern neighbours would only attack us is plain naiveness.

Which country's intel agency would not detect the transportation of a nuclear transportation device? Components can be disassembled yes but the parts are all controlled and most are monitored by the CIA. An ICBM is not something you can hide in a briefcase.

And Y would we need to get one if we dun have LONG DISTANCE targets? Assuming China declares war (idiotic fantasy), which countries would they have to go thru. If you're gonna reply by sea, start reading up on your politics. Their agenda is Taiwan, not us.
