3 months ago, 14 May 2006, i accepted a night shift job from a
job agency in international plaza. The job agent is quite arrogant,
he just implying things like i owe him a living. Anyway beggar
cannot be chosers, i been jobless for close to 4 months before
that.
Before i sign the contract, the job agent told me it was a 2 months
temp to perm night shift job. Then i look at the job it was valid
for 6 months instead of 2 months. I was surprised and ask him why
is the contract valid for 6 months, the job agent behaved
impatiently and says their is a reputable job agencies, they say
after 2 months if my enginner if satisfied the company will sign me
up. I admit i was so navie and damn stupid, i sign the
contract.
2 months later at 16 July, i ask the HR department why i am still
not converted to perm staff. They says my contract is 6 months, i
ask my direct engineer and he was surprised. He says you didn't
know your contract was 6 months.
I was shocked and furious, i confront that agent and he just says"
if you think it is too long, give us 1 month notice and quit." This
is my encounter with a job agency and it is really a very big
agency. I just want to share my experience, i admit i was downright
naive and stupid and i urge you people out there to try to find a
job by yourself first.
