You could also be wrong. Where did you get your figures? From my understanding, brigade snipers, either equal or outnumber the CDO and Guards snipers, discounting special ops internal training.

Yup, snipers are brigade assets.
Commandos have their own snipers.
Some says Guards Snipers had snipers tabs sew on their uniforms, issit true ?

Usually there's a interview for snipers in Sispec during Bslc.
Most important requirement is your eye-sight.
Snipers all 3sgt and above.
All commanders platoon.

Again, there are snipers in all frontline brigades, and there are certainly more infantry brigades when compared to the numbers of guards brigades.

I believe all snipers in SAF have a tag..as long as sniper trained you can wear the tab. It looks like a marksman tag except that it has a star in the middle, positioned exactly where you would sew on your marksman badge. Wink

Erm......that is not entirely true. That tab is not a standard dress for a No.4 uniform in the army. From what I understand it was a unit arrangement. The golden badge version however is standard issue and worn on the No.3 uniform.

But it's a helluva badge. It caught my eye the first time I came across it and I swore to get it someday.

This is no official tag... any sure things are unit arrangement.

The official SAF sniper badge is the same as the one for marksmanship plus a star at the centre of the crossed rifle. I werar this on my no1 and 3.
For the no 4 it is a clothe version swen on.

The badge is a qulification that need re-new annually and upon attain
class1, that is is you pass but only class2 then you're not qualify to wear
till you take the marksman test the next year.

It’s not a badge you want to wear in war thou, being caught with it would mean certain and fatal retribution from your captors… There is little love from captured snipers.

The sniper in question was on a stationary post, on a roof, in hostile area. He was ambush as he left the building. His spotter suffered injuries but was able to hold of the enemies until the pick-up vehicle arrived with more troops, which wasn’t very long.
