can can.
do u know that wireless device doesn't function to the fullest? cos
they are configured to acceptable configuration. u can make the
performance better like enable throughput on your adapter
etc..
1. right click "my computer"
2. Click properties
3. click on "hardware" tab
4. click "device manager"
5. expand "Network devices"
6. Right click your "wireless adapter" indicated in there
7.click properties
8.Click "Advance" tab
from there, u can adjust your performance of your wireless adapter.
google each term of it inside if u dont know what it means. for me
i'm using acer lappy.
ad hoc channel:
Band and Channel selection for Ad Hoc networks.
intel throughput enhancement:
This setting can be used to increase the transmit throughput by
enabling packet bursting.
mixed mode protection:
This setting can be used to avoid data collisions in a mixed
11b/11g environment. RTS/CTS should be used in an environment where
clients may not hear each other, CTS-to-self can be used to gain
more throughput in an environment where clients are in close
proximity and can hear each other.
power management:
Select a balance between power consumption and adapter
performance.
Default: Power settings based on computer's power source.
Lowest: Maximum battery life - Highest: Maximum performance.
preamble mode:
Change the preamble length setting received by the access point
during initial connection.
Always use a long preamble length to connect to an access point.
Auto Tx Preamble allows automatic detection of the preamble setting
received from the access point. Short preamble is used if
supported, if not, long preamble is used.
preferred band:
Select the preferred band.
This option will be valid only if you have more than one band
selected in the Wireless Mode setting.
Roaming agressiveness:
This setting allows you to define how aggressively your wireless
client roams to improve connection to an access point.
Default: Balanced setting between roaming stickiness and
performance.
Lowest: Your wireless client is very sticky. Only significant link
quality degradation causes it to roam to another access
point.
Highest: Your wireless client continuously tracks the link quality.
If any degradation occurs, it tries to find and roam to a better
access point.
transmit power:
Decreasing the transmit power will reduce the radio coverage.
Default: Highest power setting.
Lowest: Minimum coverage - Highest: Maximum coverage.
wireless mode:
Select the wireless mode (modulation type) for data rate.
Default: Use both 11 Mbps and 54 Mbps data rate.
