How long does it take for registered mail to reach you?

Just asking, whats the normal time which singpost takes to send you a registered mail? If I lose the transaction number for the registered mail, is there anyway I can trace it?

Also, what happens if a wrong but valid address is written on a registered mail?

It takes roughly 3-4 days, if sent by govt boards, it takes even longer, but its not the post office that's at fault in that case. Laughing

Registered mail going overseas takes longer, possibly up to 2 whole weeks, they will tell you coz it needs to be registered. When I was overseas and recieved registerered mail, the post people were so sloppy, they didn't make me sign for it, just chuck it in the mailbox, too much!!! Mad

You can trace registered mail only locally, if its registered mail in and out of singapore, sorry no such service, And I think you have to pay a little premium to make it traceable.

But it has been 7 days and I still havent receive the registered mail....is that normal? Im talking about registered mail being sent by a local in singapore.

Then you have to check with the sender if it has been sent out yet. Sender will be given a tracking code. Ask for the tracking code and the post office can find it with ease. Don't think the sender has placed insufficient postage though. If the sender indicated a return address, it will go back to him if the recieving address is wrong. But if both addresses are wrong then we know where it goes. Laughing

If sender tell you that he lost the tracking number, I seriously think you've been taken for a ride.

I've dealed online for 3 years and nothing happens to my Registered Postage. The only time items go missing is via Normal Postage. All went well for oversea postage too.

You can DEMAND seller to call up the Post Office or you threaten with Police Report as you have his/her bank account number.

Normally Registered Mail takes 3 working days, MAX

If the mail happens to be some fragile or very expensive items then its worth it to spend time to hand deliver it to the person but if it is not then, its ok to use the registered mail service as its 99.9% safe most of the time

I mean genuine mistakes do occur and sender told me that he threw away the receipt cos he had no means of keeping it.

did that for the past 5 days. He said that the post office will check the thing for him and call him back. He is going back to the post office to ask for a copy of the transaction number. But I wonder why the post office didnt give him the number in the first place...

The post office always gives the RA (Rgistered Article) number to the sender of the registered mail...something fishy going on here

hmm...tts weird. Becos sender told me he checked at the main office, main office ask him go back to the branch which he posted from. The branch told him they will check for him and ge back to him. I forgot to mention about the number. He is going back there to check again today.
