Waaa. Go creative

I see around, Apple very expensive leh

I that time go see, iPod Nano is 300+ and Zen Neeon only $185

Of course buy creative la

Both are branded and doesn't matter, Why spend more when you can get cheaper and better? If you didn't know, Creative has better sound and a test was carried out by 2 siao on, They tested that Creative has better durability compared to Apple

By then technology obsolete, you still want meh.

I can see this as a consolidation of strength within the 2 companies to continue the fight. Right now, this lawsuit issues is sapping time and resources, whereas a 3rd party is sneaking in to whack the market.

It is to both companies best interest to wrap up their conflict asap with Sandisk annoucing their intent to focus stronger on the market.

If both of em get caught up with the legal issues, Sandisk might slowly whittle market share from both of them. Granter, Sandisk might not be able to grab alot of market share in a short period, but even a small amount could be worth millions over a half year period.

In the sense of whether 100m is fair, you have to break down the attributable gross profit to the infringed technology. Overall, 100m is alot of money for a technology that might have a lifespan for just maybe 1 year more before it becomes obsolete.

For Creative, I think they are just happy to receive a cash infusion and refocus it strategies to garnering market. As of lately, it seems their offerings have slacked off.

My nokia can do all the above, minus the xbox part. Laughing

nobody mentions that the future gen of ipod will be packaged with creative accessories like the earpieces?

Sadly, you're wrong. Creative lost big deals!

What Creative wanted to get is a ban on iPod in the States or a merge with Apple in the music industry.

See, Apple is now leading in mp3s, and Microsoft is joining in the game soon, at this rate, soon Creative will suffer huge loss every year, just like what they did this year.

So to get back the market, either iPod stop selling, or they merged with the lisense Creative claim to be theirs. Now of course Apple Inc. did not want this.

Paying US$100 million is nothing to Apple. In fact, each year, Apple spent many times that amount just for advertising. Also, if the lawsuit carries on, Apple might be forced to merge, which definately cuts their earnings greatly.

Think in the States, Nano was sold more than that number in just weeks Laughing
