my time dun even have em3 or norm(tech), so i am going from ite to poly to uni route. Laughing

for ite to poly route, there was an interval of 5 years interval, in between i was in ns n working.

how about jc pple getting bad results for their A level turn to poly route? wasting two years just to gain good results in poly so that they can get into uni? Rolling Eyes

wat you mean? as far as i know if u r diploma holder, as long ur cert is relevant to the course in uni, u will be grant to 2nd year directly.

superb result can get u any course u desire but u will still need to study 4/5 years if the course in uni is irrelevant to ur diploma.

depend on wad uni...SMU i noe is 4 yrs .....
NUS ,even if related,it is at their discretion whether to grant u exemption for e module(may nt add up to 1 yr)

As far as I know, as long as the course you choose is related to your diploma and you pass their tests, you will be able to gain direct entry to Year 2. It's true for both NUS and NTU.

if i'm not wrong, jc students must do well so that they can go into hot course, else they landed up course they dread.

hey i was like you too..i had 15 points for my "o"s and choose to go to poly coz i want to do something which i like and that is to study chem and biomolecular eng..up till today i have no regrets.. i didnt choose jc coz i think that its quite a challenging path ( heard many failed their A lvls) scared me..

yes learning is life-long. but you can learn full-time or learn part-time. now that's a diff.

studying full-time till ur late 20s brings about social issues that may be hard to tackle such as ppl marrying later.

getting married later :

1. parent-children age gap widen
2. health problems for a mother giving birth when she's over her 30s.

and there are a lot more issues to discuss.

yea.. my poly course had several ppl who didn't do well for A lvls. actually i think the notion of "go poly = grades not good enough" isn't that valid already. Some courses don't accept students with 20 something points. Eg life science, law, mass comm (ok, they have different names at different polys) juz to name a few.

glad that youngsters nowadays dare 2 go 4 what they want Very Happy
