Question - about POSB/DBS account numbers and owner's name

hi all,

thanks for all your help. i'm about to fill in the POSB MasterDebit card application form today and got a few questions. refer to the screenshot here : http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/3339/screenshotyq3.gif

what does the "signature-operated account" and "thumb-print operated account" means? anyone knows?
my posb savings account book has no signature in it(was only a baby then) and has a thumb-print instead.

so, does that mean that i have to visit a POSB branch to stamp my thumb-print?

yes, go the branch and thumb print. or even better, while u're there, just ask them register ur signature. bring ur IC along.

Most likely he is working in DBS/POSB bank or has close contacts with the co-worker of the organisation.

If you are > 21 years old I would advise signature. Thumb print very troublesome muz go down to the branch queue up and print whereas signature is signed and submit.

With signature comes responsibility so when one opt for that be aware of your own actions Mr. Green

Viewing bank statements online is common. If DBS doesn't have it, it's bec they are darn lousy...which is why I refuse to use their cr cards even if it's free for life...lousy service means lousy...cannot make it. Laughing

oh DBS cc is free for life? LMAO i didnt even know Laughing no wonder they still sending me those promotional mail etc... coz i didnt use it for years liaoz and its supposed to be overdue long ago.. they didnt send me a new card, so how am i supposed to use it? the old card have expiry date leh...

thanks, i'm 22 this year. but just what is the meaning of signature-operated and thumb-operated? does it have anything to do with your POSB/DBS account book?
because my POSB account book only have my thumbprint, so that means i must go down to the branch and press the thumbprint and then convert it to signature-operated?

or can i just go for signature-operated even though my POSB account book doesn't have my signature?

2nd question, does POSB/DBS send promotional offers every month? can we request them not to send?

hey guys, one more question.

if you've a POSB/DBS debit/credit card and you use it to make transactions online(like eBay and Amazon.com etc.), do they list the websites you transact on when they send you the monthly transaction history letter?

hi all,

just got my posb master-debit card a few days ago. there's this letter which tells me to sign immediately on the back of the card once i've received it.

but on the back of the card, where to sign? on that thin rectangular strip of writable area? the rest are all plastic!

also, what's the purpose of signing? if i don't sign, how?

i also went to the atm machine to activate the card yesterday.
