Undoubtedly, there would be an element of shock for both
sides.The Japanese charging down coming face to face with a army in
camouflage, face-paint, jet fighters, huge APCs and IFVs, soldiers
with individual assault rifles and body armour, able to fight in
the nght..etc..etc.
Our local guys would come face to face with the brutal execution of
prisoners, the ferocious way the Japs carry themselves.Imagine our
3SIR were to be dropped back in time onto Pasir Panjang Ridge, in
the midst of the Royal Malay Regiment's last stand, would they be
chilled by the violence, or would they take up the gauntlet that
was dropped 50 years ago and bring glory to the uniform that they
wear and strike back with unparalled decisiveness?
