IMO You should be safe if you're a junior commander whose name
gets included within the main-body roster, & the whole unit
gets redeployed to inactive status after your training cycle. Not
being commissioned, I do not know if you'll get extraenous call-ups
for doctrinal updates & maybe shooting competitions &
stuff.
Recycling happens for 2 reasons: if you're a newbie who joins an
older reservist unit & thus must compete his training cycle
with another outfit, or if you're a KAH. The training cycle for
KAHs is 16 years, not 13; that's why COs & RSMs & S1-4's
don't stand down even after they've completed every ICT with the
main body. In any case, if you've noticed, they don't tend to be
from your NSF batch either; they appear to serve according to a
different timetable.
Post-training cycle, you can opt to serve on under the ROVERS
scheme, but has to commit initially 3 more years. The NSPC is
supposed to contact such eligible reservists after 12 years on
whether they want to carry on.
