mhcampboy SG of cos. basically, having a POW means, trying to capture soldiers solely to gather information. So human rights still dictates. they are also entitled to be paid an allowance as a POW according to rank.

Beckhamagic SG Every country can talk about fair treatment and providing basic needs during peacetime to "safeguard" themselves but if a war is to break out between two countries . Do you think you will provide the fair treatment and basic needs to the one who has been killing your countrymen? No doubts, he or she might not be the one who starts the war but do you think you will share your bread and water with your enemies when you yourself dont even have enough to fill your stomach I dont think they will be giving you the so-called fair treatment either just look at the Americans did they give the Iraqis the fair treatments? I think it is hell unleashed and all soldiers will become a devil not only to kill others but also to protect oneself Perhaps the Colonel will be treated better due to his or her rank but after the information is being provided or when he or she is no longer useful to the enemy then I think we all know what will happen

dracky SG When you boys go to war, you’d better think carefully about the Geneva Convention. When the fighting ends, you may not always be on the side of the victors. Then, you may be tried for any war crimes, including those involving treatment of POW. Only US soldiers don’t have to worry about war crimes but Uncle Sam will protect them eg. Abu Gharib.
