i do not think many people pray to it in singapore.
There is a darker side to some hindu deities . In remote india
during times of hardship, the people beleive their village is run
over by evil demons
there is one deity , cant remember his name but a ritual conducted
for him involves a person posessed and walks around the entire
village at night to rid of evil spirits with a big sword in his
hand
But if a human were to step in front of him during this time of
trance, he will wield a big sword and cut off his head. So the
villagers will stay put inside their homes when all this is
happening until the person regains his normal self
quite scary.
