Questions for RSAF personnel!

Ok lar ask u all questions

1. RSAF announced that we gonna have 2 different types aircraft right??

2. So ar, with the purchase of NGF, we are also to phase out A4-SU and F-5T right?

3. RSAF indicated we gonna be a small participant in F-35 right?

4. when do you think the 2 types of aircraft going to take place in?

5. Our first F-16 came at 1988,RSAF normally keep planes for 30 years
that means 14 years more our first F-16 , furthermore around in y2k period
we still took F-16

6. Say F-35A is going to be 2nd type so which is going to be the 1st type?

7. Will A4-SU pilots and the F-5 Pilots be retrenched or post to other places?
Will they go learn another new plan or go overseas detachment?

8. I would like to know if there's a replacement for our neighbour's
SU-30 and MIG-29 and is USA going to offer it to them?
Is it going to be SU-35 or SU-47 for them?

9. Are we going to purchase 1 for 1 for every aircraft purchased?

10. Are we going to need lesser aircraft now?

11. How many NGF are we going to take in total?

12. 1 last thing, if u can't answer nvm.

So is the F-35 going to partner the NGF in the future to meet the 2 type requirement?

That means all 3 of the types of aircraft we using CURRENTLY going to completely GONE, in the period ?

we still took F-16 <<< There is no fixed timing on keeping an aircraft, RSAF looks at the operation and usage. Once an aircraft has reached operation capabilities (costs too much to maintain and service), RSAF will look into replacing it.

6. Say F-35A is going to be 2nd type so which is going to be the 1st type? <<< Could you link a report of this to me?

7. Will A4-SU pilots and the F-5 Pilots be retrenched or post to other places?
Will they go learn another new plan or go overseas detachment? <<< Pilots do not get retrenched, they will be retrained, just like the ground crew and they will be posted to other units.

8. I would like to know if there's a replacement for our neighbour's
SU-30 and MIG-29 and is USA going to offer it to them?
Is it going to be SU-35 or SU-47 for them? <<< USA offer what? their aircraft? politically, don't think so.

It has been said that F-5 will be replaced together with A-4 when it is possible as bth are also ending their service age.

Only 2 types of fighter jets will be used in future.

Well we already know that either the Eurofighter, F15T or Rafale will replace the A4. My guess is that they will first phase out the A4 gradually. Once all have been replaced, then they will wait & see.

If the new jet performs up to their expectations, then they will start to phase out the F5. Considering it takes time to train pilots for the new jets, I have a feeling the F5 will be around for at least another 6 to 7 years.

BAE seems more willing to share technology & provide all weapons including BVRAAM & Stormshadow. The US AFAIK still has not handed over AMRAAM missiles & have opted to do so only when there is a need. That plus I think its really unwise to get all our jets from one country. As for the French, well I dunno, I'm guessing there must be a reason who several countries decided not to get the Rafale after shortlisting it.

USA will do things at the 11th hour, I won't be surprise that they are doing it again. AARAAM, they wun give until we are in direct threat like Taiwan (I wish to refrain as it is quite senitive issue)

You still want to be cheated by European makers after the Fennec that is rarely used in the end other than for training?

my major concern is that..

if you see last time..for example in the car industry..nissan cars got defect...
so must sent back to workshop..

im only worried that f-16 might have the same problems..
if partial or some of them grounded..due to a technical fault or what..
we will be jialat..

The US has already relaeased AMRAAMS to both singapore and thailand.

Well that's what our Fennecs are for right from the start jus that the C2(?) version has been relieved of the light gunship role.

singapore is part of the F-35 development team…. RSAF will buy around 12 NGF 1st, if rsaf is happy with the jet, they will get more later….

Why it is always that the NGF is replacing the A-4 directly? Base on the current specs of the contenders, it is more like the F-16C/Ds is going to replace the A-4 current role in the RSAF while NGF is going to fill up the gap left by the F-16. Thus indirectly, the NGF is replacing the A-4SU. I think it is more appropriate if the F-16 replace the role of the A-4SU while making way for better air superiority fighters.

Currently, 20 F-16 ordered 4 years ago is replacing (had replaced?) an old A-4 squardron and i believe the replacement will continue this way.

My two cents worth.

Well if you recall, one A4 squadron was replaced by F16C/D. And the official statement from RSAF is that they are looking for a replacement for the A4. That's why the Typhoon/Rafale/Eagle are refered to as A4 replacements.

Thats the official statement, but i beg to differ. However if you will to read my explaination, the NGF will replace the A4 but not directly. Does it in a way go in line with the statement?
