i know for sure that u can’t wear ankle socks with the new balance shoes to play basketball because u will end up having skins peeling off at the back of yr ankle.

Brooks is my choice due to its light weight and comfortable fit. All the marathons i've run so far were with my trusty Brooks shoes

unfortunately, you don't see many stores selling Brooks ... aside from Queensway where you can get an extremely good bargain

bought the brooks, and have used it a few times so far.

found it to be light, and rather comfortable. i think its narrower and hence better for running. perhaps tts y its meant for the not-so-flat footed.

havent bought the new NB. wonder if i should do so?

Got to be careful when you are wearing those brooks shoes on silppery surface as they have a very high chance of loing contact with the surface and injuring yourself

I sprained my leg twice using those brooks shoes which resulted in me having to go for operation to fix the problem and many of my bunk mates also have this problem with their shoe but is just that they did not sprained their knees.

I agree....My NB has got a hole after barely 4 usages in soccer...heh. And I returned to the emart for an exchange (cos they got tag there for warranty period, same as ur combat boots).

Still, my new NB never really lasted too ^^"

Anyway, dun get the SAF shoes, esp for those serious in running....SAF shoes are meant to use and chuck it away onez...

I've got 2 pairs of the older New Balance PT shoes - the blue-grey-white ones with the "Property of SAF"on its tongue. The box lists "M555NS" but I'm not sure if that's the model number.

They're brand new, sized 9 1/2 (US) or 43 (EU). My reservist unit was winding down just as SAF issued us the eMart credits, so everyone of us used the opportunity to stock up mainly on the running shoes. Bought 5 pairs of them myself then, gave away 2 pairs & have worn another pair.
