foxtrout8 SG So that you can stick your head into the bubble inorder to see whats below or behind from inside the cabin.
eurofighter SG Yep. The bubble is also on the Fokker 50 MPA. Usually seen on maritime coppers and planes. On the chinook, i thought its the 3rd window?
kopiosatu SG ok, here's the answer... the bubble is for the flight engineer to see if the engine is on fire during start up or emergencies
kopiosatu SG well, if a SP can lift up 4.5tons with 22 men inside... i wonder what's the max a chinook can lift. gotta go back and ask the chinook guys.
pufferfish_79 SG not sure if chinook can lift BX anot.. but think quite unlikely... as BX is not reall that light. Trained in chinook before... but stupid... never flew in it before.. Was told that it can hold 2 LSV inside.. or undersling 2 .. not sure can hold 2 inside n undersling 2 anot... but saw chinook undersling 2 LSVs in Wallaby cool... as you guys know RASAF never carry full combat load during training, they said its bcos not to strain the helo so it can have longer lifespan...
kopiosatu SG ok, not to pick on you, but just to let you know. the term to use is underslung, its not a past tense. its an operation.
SibeiSuayKia SG Use chinooks carry bionix still slow..deployment.. 12 at a time considering if need about 30 minutes to bring.. too slow.. Suggest rather the chinook carry those damaged BX in battle front for repairs more effective , as a medic
