The death of LTA Loo reminded me of a
similar accident that happened to an F-16 pilot from the
USAF . I can’t remember the year or the date
but during that time of the accident, the USAF blamed the crash on the pilot error & tried to
cover-up the whole incident. Had it not been of the determination
of the wife of the pilot, who was very sure her husband did not
err, the real truth would not have been discovered that when her
husband took off from the airbase, he flew into some heavy clouds
& encounter some turbulance which cost his plane to be
inverted. The pilot did not know he was inverted as his instruments
became faulty after the shock from the turbulance, so he did what
the SOP taught to pilots flying in thick
clouds, pull-up. He did that & ended up crashing into the
ground. I can’t recall why the USAF
covered-up the incident.
