NEW ATP rules!

I think some of you guys already read in ARMY NEWS this month. Or was it pioneer?

ANyways, they changed ATP. Supposedly to make the prg simulate a combat enviroment.... blah blah.

Now they have what Maneuver arms shoot and Support shoot... Wah liew. Thanks to them, they smoked my chance of getting marksman.

Just finished my ATP yesterday... totally tulans... Mainly with myself than the new system actually. My unit under support, so we went for the support arms shoot system. Max Score is 28, 16day, 12 night.

Day shoot is one piss bucket man. Basically, 4rds per practice. The targets, a mixture of figure 12s, and 15s can pop out any damn place. At 100m, its damn hard to shoot already, now these buggers dun pop up where they always do, but are subject to "randomization." Kiss ur marksman goodbye if u miss more than 6 in ur day shoot.

Night shoot still alrite. 20secs exposure per target. Not that bad actually. I missed a few due to bad fundementals i guess. But the tracers spoil my night vision... so there. I have something to blame.

Anyways, whoever going ATP soon, prepare urselves for a surprise.

I hav no clue what maneuver arms will be doing... someone enlightenme?

Maneuvre arms are mobile units tasked to do "movement-to-contact" operations. Mainly applicable to armour, commandos, guards and infantry units. The rest would constitute Support arms.

Interesting now that they finally decided to employ a more realistic tune to the ATP. Marksmanship was never suppose to be easy so suck it up. Twisted Evil

I thought this isn’t really new. I’ve tried this out in Brunei back in 1991. The targets pop out all over the place. Really fun actually.

Wondering,manouver arm hw they train with this new system?Move and shoot ahz?Kind of wondering also,hw do ppl assigned to me MG Gunners train their marksmanship?And also,in range,we are nv allowed to fire in AUTO mode,but in war,surely zap the enemy in AUTO one what.So hw does a trooper train man?

In Auto mode:

1) Ammo consumption rate increases
2) Lowers accuracy and hence "productivity"
3) Increases the chances of weapon jam

When you run out of rounds during a fire-fight, you'll understand why it's not wise to use auto all the time. You only have so many rounds, make them all count.

erm, ober… i think what they mean is that weapons such as the SAW or GPMG are by nature auto weapons. What u said is true, but training these weapons in Semi-kinda defeats the purpose.
