Actually, I don't bet well on Rafale as well actually as of a hindrance..

I have found out, Rafale is only capable of having those V Ex French missile. French missile is ex, you can buy 2 US missile for 1 French made. The AIM120 missile we have cannot be placed on Rafale but F15T. Meaning, we have to spend money to buy missiles just for Rafale...

As for F15T, there might be US pressure as they are giving weapons that F-15E has..

French missiles more ex than American...so? How many live missiles do you expect the RSAF to expend every year? Besides, I've yet to see ANY evidence that the overall life-cycle costs of an F-15 is less than that of the Rafale. You're again looking at a very narrow part of a very big picture to argue your case.

Well this type of statement is very hard to prove. Esp different manufacturer say their is better.

Think the objective is not to just run out there and grab the best plane, but more of the most cost effective that can do the job.

There is a lot of arguement and question over the F/A 18E , think F16C is still the better choice, as it is the most cost efficient plane to run long term. So even the F18 E is better, it have 2 engines which eat up fuels, you may have the better plane, but more costly for replacement and long term maintanence.
While operating the F16C, you ensure you have money for replacements.

The AIM120 missile we have isn't even on our shores my friend & what good is that going to do for us even if we have the knowledge that 1 french made missile more expensive than 2 US made missiles?

So what if it is more expensive, at least we can store it here rather than 2000 km away, that counts in the end not just some empty promise from the yanks.

No, USA did not want to provoke sendiments... However we have secured a deal, the missiles will be back home if there is a threat.

As for Rafale, I'm looking at economics of scale... It is hard for us to have training detachment everywhere as well. The French made missiles cannot be used on F-16 as well. Just like, spending money ineffectively for just 1 model of aircraft. IMO

Training detachment wise, we already have a training detachment in France. For LIFT/AJT no less. What could be better for economies of scale, training-wise, than having our fighter pilots stay in France after graduating from AJT?

The RoCAF seems pretty happy operating 3 different types of BVR AAMs for their Mirage 2000s, F-16s and IDFs. The logistical inconvenience has to be balanced with the advantages of diversifying our sources of equipment, which will mean no foreign power would be able to unilaterally cripple our ability to defend ourselves.

Hogwash. Ties, especially military ties with France have never been stronger. On top of the AJT deal in Cazaux, theres Eastern Arc and Western Arc as well as ODAX exercises between the 2 Air Forces. Not to mention the small issue of the biggest RSN project is a colloboration with the French.

Of course they might do the same, but that is EXACTLY why we must diversify our weapon sources. You've just proven my point, thanks!
