Wow neat inventories..
hope the inventories could be much more improved

sbst275 SG

UH1H and C130 may be in for retirement.

SibeiSuayKia SG

nah..i dun think C130 is going to be in for retirement
we still need them for parachuting

martin_lim85 SG

i thought they also buying F35 JSF.

sbst275 SG

There is an new C130 in the market now, C130J

sbst275 SG

F35 is only ready in 2013 (It is still in R&D)

F5 may be eventually be replaced together with A4SU

sbst275 SG

I look foward to the purchase of striker planes, Naval Helicopters, Recon planes and interceptors

fkh SG

As for Helicopters:

RSAF also had 20 SA350 Squrriel light helos- for light observation /light attack .

I like to know whether RSAF Super Pumas can be armed?

sbst275 SG

Rather, it is Fennec AS550

It has offically retired last year, all of them

AS332 is not really armed, it is more to logistics and SAR usage

SibeiSuayKia SG

Wow ...u all forgot to add the AAM and those oerlikon aa guns?..=p

they belong to RSAF as well i suppose

wow SAF seems to be a little overequipped lol
but its better to be over equipped then to be under equipped =D

Obersturmfuhrer SG

Is it really wise to be discussing inventory even if it is disclosed? Some tongues might slip in the process. Even if some things are disclosed, how would you know they’re accurate unless you have some fools to confirm them for you?

sbst275 SG

The nos are quite accurate as purchase of aircrafts are disclosed, but then everyone needs to be cautious though. That's why I have no intension of adding missiles as they are quite senitive stuff

Obersturmfuhrer SG

Thats not the point. The point is any Tom Dick or Harry can write a report that may or may not be accurate. All that report needs is somebody to verify it.

I can, for example, write about how many Battalions we have and what roles they play. It may or may not be accurate but I can claim it's from detailed studies and from disclosed sources. All I need now is someone from within to confirm what I've written is accurate. Having done that, it allows for me to update my personal intel. Lame as it may seem but this is one of the methods foreign powers used to gather intel. Dun believe me? Ask the soviets.

ah_tee SG

u dun wan to know how many of the aircrafts there are actually “battle ready”

eurofighter SG

Fennecs have not been retired. Only their gunship role removed. That ST report is wrong. Cant get that retired yet as it's our training chopper.

sbst275 SG

It has been replaced by AH64

sbst275 SG

It is vertified
Let's see

RSAF made these order
8 F16AB (1 crashed in 198 Cool
40 F5S/ E
18 F16CD arrived in 1998
24 F16CD in 2000+ (2 burnt)
08 RF5
40+ A4SU (142 & 145)
18 A4SU (Sqn 150)
08 AH64
12 Longbrow (2nd Order)

Obersturmfuhrer SG

MINDEF security guidelines state that matters relating to the military, even disclosed information, should be refrained from being openly discussed in unsecured public forums or channels.

foxtrout8 SG

It should be 8 AH-64D Longbow Apaches and 12 AH-64D Apaches.
