sheet loads of pple have made it. wat is the big deal. poly to local uni, distance sturdy, go overseas sturdy, etc all so common. work hard at your dip first la.

I completed my Diploma in mechatronics from NYP in 2001. Went on to do a part-time degree (4 years ) at NUS. Just graduated 2 weeks ago Razz

Its might not be as hard as you think. Like someone said, its pure hard work and perseverance along with some luck.
