furthermore, if you are travelling at high speed and cant brake in time, YOU ARE ALLOWED to proceed. however, given other circumstances such as enough time to slow down etc, and yet you decide to chiong across,that is when you have commited an offence.haix...must go dig up your Basic theory/ final theory and read again lah.

but if you're still damn scared. everytime when you approach traffic light,do the correct procedures.

1) upon seeing traffic light,slow down by releasing accelerator

2) when the 'coast is clear', start to accelerate again

say when you're approaching traffic light and it turns amber(maybe about 10-15m away), you'll have enough time to slow and and stop.

Always drive carefully.. If you dont slow down when there is a traffic light ahead of you, you might even cause accident that make other pesdestrain lose their life. For example, when your car is 10 car space from the traffic light then you think its safe to dash across but when you are 3 car space, the light turns yellow and you are unable to stop. At the same time the pedestrain run across the road when he saw the yellow light.. You just happen to knock down the pedestrain as you cant stop in time and you cant react in time..

Road accident happens every now and then.. Straight in 4 days time, 3 elderly died in car accidents.. BEWARE!!! Drive carefully! Think twice before you drive fast.. You wont know when accident will happen..

when coming to a junction, lift the foot off the accelerator or at least maintain a speed you can brake when the light changes.....beating the red light can have very bad consequences...

you dont need to care about the car behind you. if they crash into you, they are in the wrong. even if you suddenly slam on the brakes, i believe you are are not in the wrong, just dont bang people car can already. im not sure, can anyone confirm this?

Back on topic. That is one my bad habits, whenever I assume that I am at a safe distance from the lights (provided it doesn't go red), I will always dash through. I will change that habit once I drive again, probably next year or so.

Apart from anticipating, do you actually look out for cameras?

Someone else used the correct term. "Beat An Amber Light" or "Beat Red Light."

Me still need to brush up on my inklish.

BTW, the correct procedure for approaching junction, exiting slip road, doing a right turn at any junction or approaching a zebra crossing.....is slow down. You dont know when some kids might decide to also 'beat the red man' to run across the road.

I've personally experienced that in the dark of a rainy night, a obvious prc woman in full black dress, decide to run across the junction.....trying to beat the rain chasing her and the red crossing man.

I fishtailed my vehicle.

usually those places w/ red light cameras are black listed accident zones. so keep a lookout and slow down

however tbh, the red light camera dun work either esp over heavy vehicles

Check the pedestrian light also. If it's blinking when you approach the traffic light, you can safely accelerate. If you see that it's a red man for pedestrian while green for vehicles, it means that it's gonna change any moment.

Hmmm i don't agree with you this part.. As some traffic light that i observe right, when it blinking from the pedestrian light, don't accelerate anymore because when if the pedestrian light changes to red, the traffic light for vehicle will also turn amber but not wait till sometime then changes to amber..

Better dun drive, Take public transport or walk. If drive, please obey the rule. Drive slowly within the speed limit. Be assertive.

Always mantain 1 car length if u are 10km.

Maintain 3 sec rule. if not, use 6 sec rule.

Always be able to forecast what others will do

Try to signal at all times.

When approaching junction, always slow down to 30km/hr

If u see ambulance, remenber to siam.

Dun follow behind a lorry in case they always drop things to hit your car.

Dun ever go 1st lane of the expressway as the road is less Frictional. From my experience of driving for 10 years+, I saw numerous accidents happen only on first lane.

It is not your brake no good, tyres no pattern. Sometimes factors like rain and road no friction can cause you to brake more distance and cannot brake in time causing skidding and hit the front car.

Please give way to motorist when it is raining. They need to rush or go for a shelter. Please pity them.

Show Thank you handsign when people give way to you. Back to Singapore 80s. We must still follow the governement policy to be polite in order to turn singapore to gracious society.

Please plan your route well and forecast extra 20-30mins of time to your journey.

Dun stop at the expressway and roadside as they will hit you back.

If you stop, please get out of your car to prevent any car and lorry to hit your back.

If necessary, dun go out at night as the visiablity is always poor. It is harder to drive.

Forecast and think ahead

Have enluff of slp, drink lots of water and have a well-balanced meal

2 eyes should only focus, Off you handphone when driving, Dun touch her gf or wife when driving and dun eat. Dun ever lose concentration.

If you feel very upset. Never drive the car. Your mindset is not right to handle machine.

Allow more time for your journey

Remember to do a precheck on your car before moving off. Check the oil filter, check the water level, brakes and tyres.

Dun drive when it is raining as it will increase your risk of accident.

I believe if you really follow all the golden rule, If really u being hit or what. U can tell me what the reason, not including people mistake come and hit u.
