Job satisfaction is a concept that is at best related to the particular organisation in which the individual works, and theoretically speaking it is the simply relation between the person and the job. It doesn’t make sense to apply it to a country.

oo i don really like my job..defintely it not my ideal job.. stress up and no prospects.. i stay becos for the sake of money.. i agree that working life = no life.. every day work until so late, too tired to go out.. becos of work, my health has deteriorate, every 3 months take one mc.. this had nv happen before during my sch days..

i miss sch!! Sad

Now that we are on this job satisfaction, I want tag along this thread about money. Given a salary increment and a bonus which do you prefer?

I prefer bonus as it can run into 2 - 3 months which definitely better than that miserly increment. For employers it is better as usually bonus is based on past year contribution so you contribute you get money.

For salary increment, if you increase based on employee past year achievement wat if for subsequent months he/she is not performing? You still gotta pay that increment monthly. This is lose deal !

So I think for employers bonus payout is better and I as employee prefer bonus payout as I wanna work hard for my money. I do not subsribe to the concept of due to my past achievements, I can use that to earn and eat for the rest of my life. Tat is cheating money from employers Mr. Green

Hmm... Good point stated... Last year me prefered salary increment as it worked out to be more than my bonus, but this year me prefer bonus to increment as this year company made a very healthy profit after taxes...

Hmmm... i tink it all depend on company approach to rewarding employees as stated in my earlier posts. I still tink the bonus approach is more appropriate and value for money for employers point of view.

For employee, increment is more worth it as you can depend on your past achievements to get confirmed money (unless you resign or retrenched or pay cut) for the rest of your stay in company.

The bonus approach for employee indicate every year he/she muz contribute as there is no more excuse I used to contribute so now I can slack a bit mindset but still get rewarded for my past glory hahaha Mr. Green

his fren came in later was promoted...to IT Project manager

becos he is not a politician...

and guess wat...
Manager get less work and more salary but bonus not tt much...
while my fren get none...but more WORK..he dun mind not being promoted but he wan salary increase!

unfair...

btw, bonus only short term and one time...
i will choose bonus if there is no future and quit tt job..
if i plan to stay for 3 or more yrs...i choose salary increase...

not many ppl are satisfied with their job...
too many politicians ard(PAP sure look ard in corporates too)
and 1 pay gets 2 mans job..

And now you know why politik in opick always revolve ard promotion? Ppl wanna promote to use mouth earn money position. Not only that, you get paid higher to use your mouth then use your hands.

So every time a senior person left with a vacant post, alot of wannabes will be eyeing that post and all sorts of politik game start to show. I always have a fun day watch the games they play. They are good... all Uni educated..... hmmm..... I guess a Uni education prepare one to play politik game very well Mr. Green

So no educated ppl use hands and sweat to earn money, got educated ppl use mouth and brains to earn money? A truth saying hehehehe....?

ya.. my company adopt this kind of system.. my increment is onli 100 each year but i get bonuses and commission at end of the yr.. overall it still sux..
